This is the sign up post for writers and artists wishing to take part in the Fest. Sign ups open now and close on Monday 20th August at midnight, British Summer Time - not much time, I know, but we are not a huge community (yet).
By Sunday 26th August you will have your assignments.
Latest submission date is Sunday 7th October.
Posting (anon) starts on Monday, 15th October and ends on 29th October. Reveal post 1st November.

Type of work(s) you are willing to offer: Fic, give or take about 5,000 words (possibly more, time and inspiration dependent).
What you are comfortable working with as a creator: Holmes/Watson romance pretty exclusively (Mrs. W is allowed, but will probably be used as a plot device for catalyzing H&W); comfortable within that to do case!fic, humor, h/c, angst, UST/RST, sexual encounters of varying intensity (graphic sex very okay, fade to black also okay), schmoop, retirement fic, young-men-participating-in-foot-chases fic, etc., etc. I can and willingly write kink of negotiable variety (casual spanking to object insertion to bondage to drug use to domestic D/s).
What you would definitely prefer NOT to work with: Character death, non- or dub-con sexual content.
What you would like to receive: Fic, definitely Holmes/Watson from either point of view; first time or established, as writer sees fit. Sex scenes are always welcomed.
Some ideas! Feel free to not take them:

What you are comfortable working with as a creator Slash, friendship!gen, Holmes/Watson primarily. Casefic, schmoop, humour, h/c, retirement!fic. Usually pretty romance-centred. Building on moments in the canon.
What you would definitely prefer NOT to work with Not really much for porn/kinks any more. Or het.
What you would like to receive Fic, art. Anything with Holmes/Watson and a happy ending, although I love a bit of conflict first. Exploring the problems of having to keep a relationship a secret, failures of communication, Holmes not understanding emotions - or Watson assuming he doesn't, and then Holmes proving he understands them very well. H/C, particularly if it's Watson getting hurt. Cuddling. Asexuality welcome. Fics that work off moments in the canon.
What you would definitely NOT enjoy receiving Not really interested in getting icons, or straight-up porn. Anything without a happy ending. Infidelity (between anyone, Watson/Mrs. Watson included.)

What you are comfortable working with as a creator: I'm happy writing Holmes' POV if people like, as it's a little less popular. Holmes/Watson always, and I've never written a case fic, so fair warning about that.
What you would definitely prefer NOT to work with: Porn really, of any form. Suicide also, and mpreg.
What you would like to receive: Fics are wonderful, especially if they're all angsty romance, however a hand-drawn art of the boys would also be amazing! Holmes/Watson lovelies in either case ;)
What you would definitely NOT enjoy receiving: I have no great objection to higher rated fics, however PWPs are not really my thing. Sweet as opposed to sexual with art too please! Oh, and I'm such a vanilla bean when it comes to things like kinks and mpreg.
Any other information you would like to add: This is a little weird, but one thing that drives me up the wall with fics is multiple pairings. It's even worse if both pairs are slash. My suspension of disbelief doesn't stretch that far... :)

Case-fic, missing bits from canon, and I'd be happy to try my hand a a remix of the recipient's work, if that floats her boat. I'm fairly flexible, but I'm not particularly gifted at explicit anything, and I'm not a fan of non-con.
What you would definitely prefer NOT to work with: Non-con, deathfics, PWP, torture porn (I don't mind infliciting whump in service of a plot, but pure whomp and nothing but isn't much fun)
What you would like to receive: Fic Fic Fic! I adore casefic, missing-moments, slices of life, stories that showcase relationships. A little humor in the fic is always appreciated, although you don't have to make it a humor-only piece; I like a blend of humor and action and, well, see canon. ;-) Double bonus points if you manage to work in one or more of the following words: spruce, eclectic, adverse, somnolent, doughty. All that being said, if someone wants to podfic or remix one of my stories, brilliant!
What you would definitely NOT enjoy receiving: Non-con, deathfics, PWP (I like plot), torture porn (whump in service of plot is fine), infidelity fic, stories where anyone is being unnecessarily horrid to everyone.

Type of work: fic, 1-5k words, depending on the story and what it requires.
My comfort zone: Holmes/Watson. Romance, UST, RST, first-time, fluff, rated anywhere from G to NC-17. I like to write in the "white space" around or between cases. I'm not so good at casefic because I'm not nearly as clever as Conan Doyle. Het ok if the pairing makes sense, and the same goes for m/m or fem slash. I like happy endings, in every possible meaning of that term (heh).
Out of my comfort zone: Most kinks, incest, mpreg, torture, non-com, tenticle porn (what is this, hentai? lol), AU (this is Canon!fic and the Canon-y the better), terminal illness, major character death. I guess that makes me pretty vanilla but I'm happy to leave the more 'out there' stuff to others. YMMV.
What I'd like to receive: Fic, art, icons, etc., the slashier the better.
I'd rather not: anything too far out of my comfort zone. I only have so much time to write and I'd rather it be on the kind of stuff I enjoy reading.

I would adore something Holmes/Watson, but I'm not picky. If you REALLY want to push my buttons: I adore it when Watson gets protective/caretaker-y with Holmes, gen or slash, in any manner: pulling him out of a black mood, easing things for him socially, jumping in to save his skin during an adventure, picking up a sitting-room chair to clunk somebody over the head - anything.

Type of work(s) you are willing to offer: Fic. I'd prefer it be under 5K but knowing my longwinded muse it could turn into a chaptered fic, who knows. At least 1500 words, let's say.
What you are comfortable working with as a creator: Gen only, please, and I prefer to write Holmes and Watson both, rather than one without the other (or both with Mycroft thrown in). I prefer to write in Holmes-voice, if that matters, and I'm best at a combination of humor, h/c, angst, and/or missing scenes. Not so great with the casefic, and I don't write character death (permanent, anyway). Anything else is fair game; retirement-era, early!fic (my personal favorite), whatever. Totally open to writing basic fandom tropes like kidfic, animal fic, etc. I come from the Star Trek fandom, so if you want to see H&Co as were!kittens that really doesn't strike me as odd. ;)
What you would definitely prefer NOT to work with: romance, either het or slash (I can nod to canon as in Mary, but prefer to not have it complicate matters), no character death, no dark fic, no Watson-is-stupid fic. Also nothing that would require a warning (non-con, etc.). Sorry to be Victorian in that respect. :P
What you would like to receive - Fic, preferably, though art is fine if necessary (I don't really need icons if possible, though). Prefer basically the same type I like to write; h/c, fluff, humor, etc., and Gen, please. AU is fine, supernatural is fine, fandom cliche is fine; I'm pretty omnivorous when it comes to reading. I'm a big fan of action scenes, and am shamelessly enamored with straight-up shameless fluff and/or H/C. I'm one of those people who happily watches Christmas movies in the middle of summer, so very little you can do will make me go EUGH TOO SWEET.
What you would definitely NOT enjoy receiving - Same exclusions, basically. Please no embarrassing Watson a'la Lady Frances Carfax, no permanent character death, no dark fic, no adult content or kinks; nothing which would require a warning, basically. Also not so big on the whole overused-and-abused drug use thing, but that's just a preference.
Any other information you would like to add: I prefer to write early!fic, epistolary fic, and specficially Holmes's semi-snarky POV, as evidence by my epic-length diary-entry fics. My fic pretty much screams me, so if you need to know specifics feel free to take a look. I've been called the Walking Canon because I love details, so canon continuity and nods to minutae are my strongest suits.

What you are comfortable working with as a creator: I am willing to try my hand at anything as long as the characters are consenting adults—that's the only thing I do NOT wish to write at this point.
What you would like to receive: Art will be nice, fic as well. I slash Holmes and Watson and have a soft spot for UST. (I won't complain if it does get resolved at the end.) I also enjoy h/c, a bit of pining, casefics, lyrical pieces that explore the characters inner worlds and their relationships. But I would honestly be glad to receive anything with a few rare exceptions. (see below)

What you are comfortable working with as a creator: Slash or gen, although gen is likely to turn into platonic Holmes/Watson love. Also, I don’t think I could manage any pairings beside H/W (or possibly Watson/Mary). If anyone’s interested in Watson/Lestrade platonic friendship, I’d be glad to explore that further.
Case-fics have worked before, but cannot be guaranteed. Apart from that, I’d feel comfortable with character studies, missing scenes, third-person perspectives, angst in healthy doses, h/c and possibly a bit of fluff.
What you would definitely prefer NOT to work with: I don’t write anything rated higher than R. Non-con and anything involving children getting hurt are also way out of my comfort zone.
What you would like to receive: Fic would be lovely; H/W slash or deep friendship (and since the latter is canon, I don’t suppose I’ll have to worry). NC-17 is fine, though not specifically requested; anyway, if there’s to be sex, I prefer Watson on top. And a bit of plot to go along with it would be nice. I have a particular love for established relationship fics, but again, that’s not specifically requested.
Oh, and podficcing one of my works would also be nice (tried that once myself, but even disregarding my accent, my respect for good podficcers has risen exponentially).

Type of work(s) you are willing to offer: Fic... my usual length is around 1,500 - 3,000 words, but may be longer depending on the cooperation of my Muse.
What you are comfortable working with as a creator: Gen, pre-slash or slash that does not include graphic sex or entire lack of plot, and for Holmes/Watson ONLY. Can also do case!fic, h/c, fluff, or supernatural is always a favorite.
What you would definitely prefer NOT to work with: PWP, het, non-con, graphic sexual content, or dark, depressing themes, especially main character death.
What you would like to receive: My favorites are slash (especially when it involves some sort of case!fic, even if it's only in the background or piles of angst ending with a happy resolution), but also high ranking on my list are well done gen or pre-slash, so long as the het is kept at bay. I'm pretty open to most categories though - fluff, h/c, humor, supernatural.
What you would definitely NOT enjoy: PWPs, Holmes portrayed as sexually experienced or a closet romantic. Just feels too far OOC for my tastes. Also not keen on character death, depressing subject matter, dark!Watson or UST. Basically, I'd adore anything - gen or slash - that was in character and not porny.
Any other information you would like to add: Besides the fact I am insanely excited... It's a peeve of mine when Canon!fics are written in anything but 1st person POV, though I equally enjoy having Holmes or Watson as the narrator.
