Please comment to this post to sign up for Round 8 of ACD Holmesfest, a gift exchange for fic and art relating only to the original stories and novels of Sherlock Holmes and Dr John Watson by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Please see our community profile for more details and some comm rules.


Sign-ups close Wednesday 15th January 2020 midnight BST.
Assignments will be sent out by Friday 24th January.
Submission deadline is on the end of leap day, 29^th February midnight BST.
Posting will begin on the Ides of March (15 March).
Reveal post 1 April (or thereabouts, depending on how many signups we get).

Remember this is a gift exchange and we don't want people to be disappointed. If however after starting you are in any doubt of meeting the submission deadline or need to drop out for valid reasons, please let one of the mods know *straight away* so we can reassign. If you are going to be only a little late submitting, please let us know via PM/mods email account (acdholmesfestmods@gmail.com), estimating know how near it is to ready, and we'll offer an extension, but you MUST commit to meet this new deadline or the mods will be more than a bit peeved. One of us is British, which should tell you something.

Offers of pinch hitters gratefully received now or in future: there will be a volunteers' post for that and for beta duties. N.B. It is possible to offer only to pinch hit if you cannot be sure of being able to participate otherwise.

What you would like to receive: - type(s) of fanwork, preferences as above. If art, please do NOT specify only wanting your fic illustrated. Not all artists like to do that.

Any other information you would like to add: You’d be surprised how helpful this can be to the one gifting you as well as your faithful mods.

For Fic: Slash, femslash, Hwatson, FemHolmes/Watson(I will make this trans unless specified to be cis) Lestrade, Mrs Hudson, Mycroft, The Bakerstreet boys, casefic, trans content, Ace/Aro Content, Queer-platonic Partners, Victorian morality/sensibilities, angst, retirement-fic, horror, hurt/comfort, mental illness, drug-use, pwp, Third or Watson POV, Gen to Explicit.

For Art: Willing to illustrate fic, black and white ink or Sepia (No full color), Up to 3 characters in drawing,

What you would definitely prefer NOT to work with:

For Fic: Watson/Mary Morstan, OCs, Reader/Character, Moriarty, non-con, dub-con, A/B/O, cis mpreg, Deathfic, graphic in detail violence (fight scenes that one would find in a casefic are fine, just nothing gruesome.), supernatural AUs (Ie: vampire Holmes, werewolf Watson, ect.)

For Art: No NSFW

What you would like to receive: Fic, Hwatson, preferably something with Watson having a sexuality crisis - give me a little bit of angst and shame, I want to be wrecked with emotion. Bonus points for Holmes pining after Watson (who is perhaps oblivious to his friend's affections.)

What you would definitely NOT enjoy receiving: F/M fic, A/B/O content, Mpreg

Any other information you would like to add: I can do between 3k-10k if anyone is looking for a long fic, Can do rare-pairs (IE: Lestrade/Holmes, Mycroft/Watson, ect.) I write Horror and Mystery for a living - so I can do heavy casefics as well. Well versed in Period appropriate language, law, and morality if anyone is wanting something that dives deep into that stuff. I know a lot about bees?
