These are lovely. I particularly like Holmes playing his violin - the way he is framed by the doorway seems to emphasise his solitude.

Thank you! I was hoping the doorway might work that way.

Lovely! These feel like they could be a glossy children's picture book (and I mean that as a complement.)

I certainly do take it as a compliment *g* I love children's book illustrations!

The only two people. The light is perfect. As is Watson's mustache.

I love the tones in the first picture - I find the door, mirror, wallpaper and violin especially appealing. And I really like the composition. I also love the soft, muted colours in the second.

I'm glad to hear it! Thanks :)

There's a beautiful contrast between Holmes, alone in his grey frame, and the two of them framed together in warmer hues and set in a landscape with colour (and dawn breaking).

Actually I very rarely work with colour, so I was really glad to hear that, thanks!

Both illos are beautiful, and the contrast is quite striking and meaningful. Lovely work, anon!

Oooohhhh ... So pretty!
Lovely pictures for equally lovely fiction. (Ok, I may be slightly biased because I prompted one of them...)

Aha, so you were the one who prompted shortbread and the morning sky! *g*

Happily guilty as charged. :)

Well, that and my morning train ride into work on a very misty morning. It is wonderful to see the same effect in your illustration.

These are wonderfully atmospheric, echoing the titles perfectly. The soft tones and ethereality (if that's a word) of the second one are beautiful.

Thank you! Ethereality was just what I was trying to go for. (I had to look it up to be sure, but it turns out it is indeed a word *g*)

Nicely rendered, both of these. The landscape in the second one adds to the dreamy quality of the prose.

Beautiful illos that catch the mood of the original stories perfectly.

SQUEEEEEEE!!! I just returned from a brief holiday with no Internet access to discover this magnificent gift. Thank you, dear Anon, a million zillion times! I am thrilled to pieces. Your artwork is so lovely, and that you chose to illustrate not one but two of my works - it's beyond fantastic. Thank you so, so much for your talent, your generosity, and for everything!!!

*beams* I was really glad to hear this. It was difficult to choose just a few fics, you have so many good ones, and so many that paint striking pictures with words. I'm delighted you were happy with these!

I love how Holmes is looking out the window and Watson is looking at Holmes, it feels like a fitting image of their relationship. Well done!

It's cool that you should mention that. I was thinking something similar - glad to hear it came across all right!

Mmm, so pretty. The incorporation of the text into the images themselves is so inviting. I'd love to see an entire story illustrated this way!

Oh, that's something I'd love to do some day! I've been thinking about it for a while. I'm a very slow artist, though...
