I really like this - so dramatic. I suppose the picture suggests an old damaged photograph, but also suggests what's happening inside Holmes' mind. As he plays, the outside world starts to break up and disappear - the only solid points remaining, the bow and the violin strings. It's poignant that even Watson is beginning to fade away.
There's something about the ink-blotches (or paint-blotches? I'm sorry, I don't know the technical term as i don't really know much about the visual arts) that really gets across both Holmes' distraction and his focus - and the way Watson is being pulled toward him. I'm doing a bad job of explaining it, I suppose, but I did find this both beautiful and moving. Nicely done.
Stunning. I love everything about Holmes's face here: he looks languid and dreamy, yet focused and tense at the same time. It's an extraordinary study in contrasts and you are amazing to have captured it so well.
This is amazing. Their expressions, the strong, dramatic composition... one can really feel the depth of feeling Holmes is putting into his playing. I'm in awe of your technique too. Wonderful.
