Your style is beyond lovely. I'd pay good money for a Sherlock Holmes edition, illustrated by you! Just sayin'. :) I love the everydayness of the scene, and that their bathroom is too small for Watson to dry himself and dress. Wonderful use of the silver tea pot – whereas we get the reflection of the window, Holmes gets a peak at half-dressed Watson. Really, gorgeous work.
Your comment kindof sortof made me chose the subject of my thesis!!!! I decided to research and do the written part about fanart, and the actual final work will be some sort of illustration :DDD So I might be selling them someday after all XD Thanks!! And thanks for the comment too, I'm glad you are noticing all the little details I included, such as the window reflection :)
Oh, myyy. Wonderful and a bit sad. Isn't this canon? The use of a shiny pot to observe? I love the palette and your style! Holmes's pointy face and whimsical hair, his greedy eyes, and the clever storytelling of showing us the window clearly reflected in our side of the pot.
Oh, I do like this! Particularly how they're both so believably imperfect in their bodies (Holmes all angles, Watson a bit round about the middle) but they love each other for it. Lovely realism throughout.
ETA: And I just this moment noticed the bumblebee which quite literally made me squeal. Nice touch, that.
I love all the little details in this, the pictures and the bell in the background and the window on the coffeepot. It feels very grounded. And Holmes' expression is the best.
I adore this. The details are just marvelous. The arch of Holmes' eyebrow, and the lines of tendons in the back of his thin hand. The soft curve of Watson's belly, and his braces dangling around his legs. The gorgeous watercolor brings all these wonderful little details and more to life. Lovely.
Oh hell, there isn't one single thing in this picture that I don't love and consider total perfection. Holmes, your expression, you sly sneak!!! And he has such good hair, too. Plus such lovely greens and blues. Gah. Adore it.
Hahahah thank you very much XD Holmes's expression was the most difficult bit in this, I wanted to make him look cheeky in a good way so I'm glad it was successful :D
Hehehehe, thanks XD You might actually see at least some of them, someday - as I might do a bit of illustration as my final work at the uni I study in, that is - if I am allowed by the teachers. Thus far one of them sounded sort of positive about it :D
The old reflection in the coffee pot trick! Beautifully illustrated. The characters and Ms Bee, of course, are lovely, but for me, I love how you have rendered the reflection of the window and curtains.
Well, this is weird. I swear I left a comment before, but it's not here. Oh, well. So: I love the nervous sense of line in this. The colors are gorgeous, but the line is perfect. I love Holmes's sly expression and Watson's seeming obliviousness (but only seeming. I have to believe he's completely aware). I love the little nod to canon. In short, this is wonderful. It may well be my favourite example of your art that I've seen.
I adore the domestic moment, and this is chock full of beautiful things that bring me to 221b and 1885 or so. The ease and comfort of our favorite gentlemen together is adorable, and our clever Holmes, watching his Doctor in the reflection is so heartwarming my smile exceeds expectations. much love, mystery artist!
(I must confess, at first I wondered about the very odd design on that teapot. which, by it's tall form, might actually be a chocolat pot)
Oh, naughty naughty mischievous Holmes, and oh-so-casual Watson! I love this; the colors, the details, the tiny flying bee, the hint of grey in Holmes' hair and the softening of Watson's middle. All hints of what's to come as well as what's come before. Brava, dear artist!
