Thank you for the lovely comment and of course for the suggestion! I did not manage to see Tristan and Isolde, and only managed to see the first hour or so of Parsifal when it was shown over the Easter weekend. What a delight, to have such access to these sources, and all their various interpretations. I imagine Holmes and Watson would be quite jealous. I decided for this fic to fully lean into my own obsessive need to layer and layer until it's puff-pastry levels of complicated. I hope it was half as satisfying as puff-pastry.
