Thank you so much for your comment and the compliments. (Seriously, it's been over a week since my little story was posted and I'm still baffled (and delighted, of course) how well-recieved it is.)

You illustrated the very dear four words of my fan fiction, the one that might be my favourite: "Something sweet, something extra."

I haven't actually thought about "The Naval Treaty" while writing "Ingredients of Love"; however, I love the quote and yes, it fits.

Adding to it, because it's Victorian times, it is 'more' than comfort food and domesticity. Or, to be more precisly, it IS exactly this - but Victorian society wouldn't allow men to do it.

However, when Watson is wollowing, Holmes wants to cheer him up - who cares about proper?! But yes, I didn't want to write a "fairy tale"; I wanted to illustrated and mirror their relationship and the context (aka Victorian times) in something so 'simple' as a seed cake.

As the text says: The cake would appear on the table... and no one would be wiser ;)
