I really enjoyed this -- I thought Holmes's solution for protecting Watson was brilliant, and I really admire how you wove together an adventure that was true to their realistic limitations (getting down a ladder is the same kind of feat here that racing a boat down the Thames would have been earlier in their lives). I also thought you were ingenious in the way you used familiar retirement themes (the bees, the isolated cottage, Watson's old wound, Holmes's restlessness) and brought them all together in new ways. I don't think I've ever read Retirement!Peril before, and it was great fun. Thanks so much for writing this!
