I must say, I do love me a more assertive Watson, and the little touches here - the body language, Holmes's slightly lowered eyes - communicate that in a delightfully subtle way. I also like the way there are so few background details, immediately drawing our attention to the details that matter. Nicely done.
adorable, and so very victorian! at first glance their faces seem so totally 'proper' but there's that body language, those points of contact, that almost-smirk on Holmes' face. I love the hands and buttons and seams and creases.
Folks, folks, you are missing the crucial point that, although Watson made the move, in the scene it is *Holmes* who has turned predator here :-) The eyes have it. And, of course, the magnificent nose, which I will indeed add to my bag, as Lestrade might do.
Thank you, dear anon. Extra shout out to how wonderfully their clothes are rendered.
