Oh hurrah! I'm so glad and relieved that you liked this. I know you're an equestrian yourself, and horsemanship was *so* important in the 19th century, so I wanted to try and use that as a focus for your story. I'm sure you can tell that I have a 21st-century knowledge of horses myself (which is to say almost none), so it was definitely a challenge to try and come up with details. I hope the riding and horse-behavior aspects passed muster, or at least didn't make you cringe *too* much. :-)

Being that observation is one of ACD Holmes' primary characteristics, I have to believe that he naturally noticed all kinds of things about Watson, and used that knowledge to care for his friend in many ways. Watson might not have always noticed, but I'm glad you did, and enjoyed it to boot!
