Where to start when so much amazing beauty and enjoyment is before you? Your Holmes voice is absolute perfection. I can see him clearly in my mind, his mannerisms and facial expressions, and hear that dry, acerbic voice leveled at Le Villard.
I also think this is a brilliant character study. Holmes so distrusts those "softer emotions" that he fails to see what is before him (Watson's returned affections)because he feels he is viewing them through a lens of what he hopes. Poor Holmes. For all that he tries to be and wants the world to think he is an emotionless automaton,he is clearly not.
There are too many parts that I adored to quote here. This left me in such a warm and happy place. Thank you!
