Gentlefans,

This is the sign up post for writers and artists wishing to take part in the Fest. Sign ups open now and close on Monday 20th August at midnight, British Summer Time - not much time, I know, but we are not a huge community (yet).

By Sunday 26th August you will have your assignments.

Latest submission date is Sunday 7th October.

Posting (anon) starts on Monday, 15th October and ends on 29th October. Reveal post 1st November.

If you are going to be late submitting, please let me, methylviolet10b or spacemutineer know either in a comment to this post or via PM and we'll offer an extension. Offers of pinch hitters gratefully received.

Type of work(s) you are willing to offer e.g. fic, art, icons [minimum 10 icons please]. If fic, *rough* idea of how long it is likely to be, e.g. under 1000 words, 1000 to 5000, over 5000 [blimey]. We have no minimum word limit for fics but something reasonably substantial would be nice.
What you are comfortable working with as a creator - e.g. gen, het, slash, particular pairings/multiples, casefic, humour, h/c, angst, preferred tropes or kinks [please list], etc: we encourage as much latitude as possible to make it easier to match and because variety is good.

Crossover fic and art is welcome, but there must be substantial ACD Holmes content, please.
Icons - may be based on any of the original illustrations to the ACD stories - not just Sidney Paget's. Camden House has a very full collection.

Type of work(s) you are willing to offer: Fic, probably in the 1-5k range.
What you are comfortable working with as a creator: Gen, slash, or het; friendship fic; if working in pairings, Holmes/Watson or Watson/Mary are my comfort zones. I enjoy writing about Lestrade, too. Case-fic, missing bits from canon, and I'd be happy to try my hand a a remix of the recipient's work, if that floats her boat. I'm fairly flexible, but I'm not particularly gifted at explicit anything, and I'm not a fan of non-con.
What you would definitely prefer NOT to work with: Non-con, deathfics, PWP, torture porn (I don't mind infliciting whump in service of a plot, but pure whomp and nothing but isn't much fun)
What you would like to receive: Fic Fic Fic! I adore casefic, missing-moments, slices of life, stories that showcase relationships. A little humor in the fic is always appreciated, although you don't have to make it a humor-only piece; I like a blend of humor and action and, well, see canon. ;-) Double bonus points if you manage to work in one or more of the following words: spruce, eclectic, adverse, somnolent, doughty. All that being said, if someone wants to podfic or remix one of my stories, brilliant!
What you would definitely NOT enjoy receiving: Non-con, deathfics, PWP (I like plot), torture porn (whump in service of plot is fine), infidelity fic, stories where anyone is being unnecessarily horrid to everyone.
Any other information you would like to add: Really, as long as it's well-written, I'm going to be happy.
