Like others have said it's just wonderful to see smitten!Holmes for once. I get such a kick out of stories where Watson is actually incredibly dashing and charming. I often think that it's entirely possible he was very handsome and attractive; we wouldn't know that, would we, because as the narrator in the ACD stories Watson wouldn't sing himself praises. And let's face it, Holmes as the narrator is really not the kind to do it, either. You've done your Watson justice as well as managed to keep Holmes in character while having him swoon a lil' bit. Lovely story, very romantic without being cloying one bit. Thank you for sharing!
