I loved going on this thoughtful journey with Holmes and Watson. The interweaving of the opera and the legends behind them and Holmes and Watson's own situation was beautifully balanced, the strands flowing over and under one another like a lustrous braid.

I loved Holmes's voice and his embracing of the idea of a second chance. I also loved Mary putting him in his place when he assumed the most she might have done was heard of the the opera. You fit so much into those few words.

I could see all this so clearly, it would make a great, atmospheric film. And there would be no doubt as to what the soundtrack would be!
