So a seed cake is caraway...? Sweet caraway...? (But not, as [personal profile] gardnerhill noted, pound-cake sweet!) I shall have to experiment!

The wicked man and the romantic one. Except, I daresay, when they decide to switch roles for a change. Watson certainly had wicked thoughts enough about the kitchen table.

(And good thing he was too prudent and courteous to follow up on them! Mrs Hudson deserves better than such!)

What a charming, lovely story. I always am a sucker for Holmes deducing just what Watson needs, and letting his heart shine through in the process. :-)
