What a wonderful start to the fest. I love this version of Holmes and Watson. And I love the way you’ve portrayed their relationship - close and loving but not unrealistically perfect. I so admire how you balanced the humour with the drama in your story: particular favourite parts were “Florence Nightingale” taking care of Watson, and then Watson playing cards with Holmes’ characters. I really enjoyed all the details of their life in Sussex, and I loved the fact Baker Street wasn’t a poignant memory for them. When the time came they’d happily moved onto the next stage of their lives. They belonged in the cottage just as much as they’d belonged in London.
