This was so lovely, and poignant, and devastatingly logical in the erosion (but thankfully not destruction) of the relationship between Holmes and Watson in the years between his remarriage and 1918. I loved all the details you wove in, the flashbacks between towns as Holmes completed the long drive, and the ultimate resolution. Just all brilliantly handled. Brava, Anon!
