I did deliberately deviate a little from the character as ACD wrote him. Perpetuating the stereotype (completely groundless!) of the over-excitable Frenchman is not something I particularly want to do... ;)

I think Alicia's Le Villard is in love with Watson, right? That made for an interesting dynamic between him, Watson and Holmes. So very sad to think the story will always be a WIP.
