Title: Podfic: The Truth of the Musgrave Ritual
Recipient: [ profile] gardnerhill
Podficcer: [ profile] morelindo
Author of podficced work:: mydwynter
Link to original text::
Rating: R/Explicit
Characters, including any pairing(s): Holmes/Watson, Reginald Musgrave
Warnings: Period-Typical Homophobia
Summary: It is my custom, you may have noticed, to save those little cases which we have solved until such time as danger to those involved has passed, or until Holmes otherwise suggests I may write about them.
Why I chose this story to podfic for you: It's a sweet fic that plays deftly with both ACD canon and the Granada show. It does have explicit sex, but it also has a great Watson voice and a lovely sense of humour about some of the odder things that happen in The Musgrave Ritual. I hope you enjoy it!

Rating: G
Characters/Pairings: Watson, Mycroft
Warnings: None
Word Count: 1400
Summary: Mycroft Holmes visits Doctor Watson with a request and an impossible task.
AN: My recipient asked for 'a series of moments in which Mycroft absolutely and indignantly refuses to do things', and also pointed me at 'The Reigate Squires'. This is the (I hope happy) result.

Today the names of the Netherlands Sumatra Company and of Theodore Maupertuis are notorious... )

Title: The Adventure of the Druids of Lanyon Dolmen
Recipient: [ profile] morelindo
Author: [ profile] tripleransom
Rating: PG
Character(s): Holmes, Watson, OCs
Warnings: Mention of drug use
Length: 5,500 words
Summary: Holmes and Watson head off to Cornwall to investigate a case that may have supernatural elements.
Disclaimer: I don't own any of 'em. Don't I wish.
A/N: This fic was inspired by a wonderfully evocative pencil sketch produced by [ profile] lynndyre for the spring, 2014 [ profile] acd_holmesfest. I was so taken with it that I asked for permission to write a story for it. When I saw that my idea would fit in with my recipient's request, this was the result. [ profile] morelindo, I hope you like it and [ profile] lynndyre, I hope I have done justice to your artwork.
Lanyon Dolmen is a real monument in Cornwall, but I have played a bit fast and loose with its geography and its history. Consult the site for some references to the topography and surrounding landscape.

Title: The Seventeenth Page Affliction
Recipient: [ profile] jcporter1
Author: [ profile] emmyangua
Rating: R
Characters, including any pairing(s): Holmes/Watson
Warnings: Suicide (not a main character), period typical homophobia.
Summary: As always, I was ever curious to the thoughts of my friend and in the years that followed I puzzled over that moment. His face was so severe, so preoccupied that I knew at once that this case would be either a most intriguing story for my readers or one I never dared to retell.

It has been put to me, on occasion, that my writings are not always as clear... )

Warnings: None
Summary: A visit to the countryside turns up a murder.
Disclaimer: The characters presented herein were created by Sir ACD.
A/N: Thanks to my beta, [ profile] thesmallhobbit, who, as usual, did a wonderful job, but also corrected my errors with some of the terms. [ profile] kizzia, case fic is not my usual area and I stretched myself a bit, trying to create and solve a crime, but I hope you enjoy this.

Pairing: Sherlock Holmes & John Watson, Sherlock Holmes/John Watson
Word Count: 10567
Rating: R (explicit sexual content)
Warning: Discussion of suicide ideation. Slight warping of the history of French oenology (shifting the decades of The Great Wine Blight and its solution forward a few decades).
Summary: Grafting is the process of adding something new to something old and established, which makes the whole stronger. The story is a prequel to my "Oubliette" series.
Disclaimer: Holmes and Watson originally belonged to ACD, but now Sherlock Holmes belongs to the whole world. Author gratefully acknowledges the existence of Chateau La Riviere Fronsac in the Aquitaine, the winery that is the model for Les Trois Pierres.

It all begins with a tiny winged insect... )

Disclaimer: Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson were created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but are now in the public domain. Dr. Watson probably isn’t terribly happy about this.
Author’s Notes: [ profile] capt_facepalm offered the prompt “honour among thieves”, with the kind reassurance that you could “take it any way you like”, and this is what I managed to come up with. Some scenes and lines in my fic have been adapted from BOSC. Thank you so much to [ profile] thesmallhobbit for the beta! (Further author’s note at end.)

[identity profile]
(Thank you to [ profile] tweedisgood for the permission to post!)

Just your friendly reminder that Holmestice signups are currently open and will remain open until the 20th of April!

There have been a few changes this round.

We have shortened the posting time to 15 days and moved up reveals to the actual solstice. This round it means that posting will run from June 1st through the 15th and reveals will be on the 21st. This means there will be a shorter amount of time between the submission deadline and reveals.

We are also allow submissions via Archive of Our Own this round. For works submitted through the collection on AO3, we will post the header with a link to the work on AO3 instead of posting the content of the work directly on LJ. Submission via AO3 is optional and we will host on LJ for those who don't want to post via AO3 or who do not have AO3 accounts.

Holmestice is usually dominated by Sherlock and so I really encourage all of you who are fans of Holmes in ANY and ALL of his iterations to come and join the fun! The diversity of the fan output is what makes Holmestice special and that's all thanks to you, the fans.
